How to Install the Rubber Cup Spring on Your Laptop Keyboard
If you find that your laptop keyboard key is missing the rubber spring/cup, the key will not function properly.This rubber cup acts as the spring for the key.It allow the key cap to move back up once pressed down.

You want to center the cup on the membrane of the keyboard key space. Many times there is an actual circle, and simply place this cup in this circle.If you are able to install the rest of the key, while keeping the cup in its place, then go ahead and so that.If you find that the key rubber cups get moved out of place this is the method we suggest.Squeeze a small amount of super glue onto a sheetof paper. The purpose of removing a key from your keyboard is to observe the Hinges (retainer clips) underneath the regular sized keys. You can then match the hinges on your keyboard to the hinges photos on our website. Once you find the photo that matches your hinges, you have identified the proper keyboard model you require to order your keys.
The best way to start is to put your index finger under the upper left corner of the key. Then gently push up on an angle. Then place your finger on the other side and push up again. The key should then be loose enough for you to remove the key cap and observe the hinges on your keyboard.
Even if you are buying a large sized key such as the “Enter Key” or “Space Bar” key, identifying your keyboard Hinge Model number is by comparing the regular sized key is always the best policy. While most regular sized keys look the same, large and small sized keys can vary on the keyboard. Therefore, you may look at the sample of large key we have on our website and it may not match the large hinge on your keyboard. When you receive laptop keys in the mail from us, the hinges will come attached to the key. We do this to protect the laptop keys during shipment.
Start off by taking the laptop key out of the baggie. Then observe the key and gently remove the tape. Make sure to hold down the retainer clips when taking off the tape, so that the retainer clips don’t break.
Then start of taking a thin blade and putting it in between the key cap and the laptop keys retainer clips. Gently push the hinges upwards so that the hinges (retainer clips) disconnect from the laptop key cap.
If you find that the plastic key clips dont come come off the button easily, then there is another option. The other option is to slowly unassemble the retainer clips from the laptop key cap, piece by piece.
Make sure to fully unassemble the entire key kit before attempting to install you laptop keys onto your keyboard.
One thing to know about the space bar laptop keyboard key is that its usually not much different than the rest of the keys on your keyboard. The retainer clips (hinges) are generally the same as the regular keys. The variation of the spacebar key is that it will usually have 2- hinges on the one key, as oppossed to one set of hinges on the regulars keys.
Start off by making sure the rubber cups are installed on the keyboard. If the rubber cups are not attached, this is how you attach it: Squeeze a small amount of super glue onto a sheet of paper. Dip the corner of the rubber cup into the glue. You want a very small amount on the edge of the rubber cup. Too much glue can harm the keyboard circuit board. You just want enough glue to hold the rubber cup in place while your installing the space bar key. Place the rubber cup in the middle, where is should sit, and let it dry for 1-2 minutes. Then go ahead and continue installing your space bar key.
The space bar will also usually have a metal wire bar. This metal bar mechanism needs to be snapped onto the key itself. Once the hinges, rubber cups and metal bar are in place, take your space bar key and place it in place. Put the metal wires through the holes. Press down gently, and the key should snap into place.

Take the smaller plastic piece and observe that it has two square sticks at the right top and bottom corners, two sticks at the middle and a bar at the left. The sticks in the middle are going to go into the middle holes of the larger piece. The smooth part faces away from the keyboard.
Place the smaller piece on the larger piece and insert its sticks to the holes of larger piece. It’s one piece now.
Insert the bars on either side into the metal hooks. Push it evenly to insert completely. Get a thin object or blade and stretch the plastic pieces so that it clicks together.
Take your letter key, put it in the middle and push down evenly from all four sides.

Facebook just released its desktop client for Facebook Messenger. It’s currently only available for Windows users, although the company confirmed that a Mac-friendly version is on its way, too.
